Built for one specific customer, from the checkout up.
Modern Prairie sells to women 45–65 who care about quality and craftsmanship — a customer most brands ignore. Cincinnati founders who learned consumer goods somewhere large will know the discipline: know exactly who buys, then build everything for her.
We migrated the store off WooCommerce with a mobile-first design for the 45+ shopper and a streamlined checkout, then built the email and paid programs around how she actually shops.

A consumer-goods town, and one metro across three states.
Cincinnati knows how products get bought better than most places. These are the conditions a brand here is selling in, each with where it comes from.
Consumer research lives here
REDI Cincinnati ranks the region the No. 4 U.S. market for consumer insights, citing Newmark, and counts 12 of the top 50 market research firms as headquartered or operating here.

A big cargo airport
CVG was the 6th-largest cargo airport in North America and the 12th-largest in the world in 2023.
Three states, one metro
The Census Bureau's Cincinnati metro area takes in Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties in Kentucky and Dearborn County in Indiana alongside its Ohio counties.
Start here
Get the store built — or get the one you have selling better.
A build is one project: the design and theme, your catalog, the move off whatever you’re on now, and a launch somebody watches. From $10,000 one-time, and you own every bit of it.
Already on Shopify? Shopify Growth keeps the store improving month to month, from $2,250/mo. Ads, email, search and testing go on top when they’ll pay for themselves.
Questions, Cincinnati edition.
Are you actually in Cincinnati?
We're a remote agency — home base is Norristown, Pennsylvania, on the same Eastern clock as you — so there's no Cincinnati office to visit. Our people are spread across the US and everything runs on video calls, which works the same from Covington as it does from Mason.
We're across the river in Kentucky. Same thing?
Same market. Covington and Newport are as much Cincinnati to your customers as Over-the-Rhine is — it's only software that sees three states. Set your ad targeting and any local delivery around the metro rather than around Ohio, and the river stops mattering.
We come from big-company marketing. What transfers to a small store?
The discipline, not the playbook. A lot of people here learned brand-building somewhere large, and the instincts about product and positioning usually carry over well. What doesn't transfer is the long timelines and the assumption that someone else owns the traffic.
We know consumer research. How much of it should a small store do?
Less than you're used to, and faster. The region runs on consumer insight — REDI Cincinnati counts 12 of the top 50 research firms here — but a direct store gets its answers from live traffic: a test on the product page, a one-question survey after purchase, what people type into the site search. Keep the research instinct and swap the six-week study for a two-week test.
We make a food or flavor product. What does a direct store need that wholesale didn't?
A shopper who's never seen your spec sheet. Flavor is a real industry here, so plenty of Cincinnati makers are used to selling by the drum to buyers who already know the product. A home cook doesn't. The page has to say what it tastes like, what it goes in and what's in it, and the store needs a reason to come back — usually a bundle or a subscription rather than one lonely SKU.
Where we work
Cincinnati and both sides of the river.
Cincinnati is a consumer-goods town with a very long memory — a lot of the people starting brands here learned packaged goods somewhere large first, and it shows in how carefully they think about the product.
We’re a remote agency with a home base in Norristown, Pennsylvania — the team is spread across the country, with a good chunk of it on the west coast. Everything runs on video calls, so you get the same people and the same hours whether you’re downtown or an hour out of it.
