A furnishings brand's own store, scaled without losing efficiency.
Modified Tot makes personalized nursery furnishings, custom wallpaper and keepsakes. In a West Michigan furniture town that's a familiar product; what wasn't familiar was the channel — most of the brand's following lived on Etsy.
We scaled the storefront and paid together, restructured the campaigns so they stopped competing, and let the budget follow profit by category.

Are you actually in Grand Rapids?
We're a remote agency — home base is Norristown, Pennsylvania, on the same Eastern clock as you — so there's no Grand Rapids office to visit. Our people are spread across the US and everything runs on video calls, whether you're downtown or out on the lakeshore in Holland.
We build furniture. Can a Shopify store really sell something that big?
Yes, and west Michigan is where we would expect the question. Large or made-to-order products live or die on freight, lead times and returns being stated honestly up front — the sale is lost at the surprise, not at the price.
We sell wholesale to retailers. Does going direct upset them?
It can, and it is a decision rather than an accident. Going direct at a price that undercuts your own stockists is the fastest way to lose them, so the pricing question should be settled before the store is built rather than after the first phone call.
We're a brewery with a taproom. Is an online store worth it?
Usually, for everything around the beer: merch, gift cards, glassware and event tickets. With 35-plus breweries on one ale trail, plenty of the people at your bar are working through a list — and the store is how someone who drank your beer on Saturday stays a customer after they've driven home.
Our team came from office furniture. What changes when we sell to homes?
The buyer. An office furniture sale runs through a dealer and a spec; a home shopper is on their own with a product page at 10pm. West Michigan has the design talent for the product, so the page has to do the showroom's job: dimensions in plain sight, swatches that ship, real room photos and a delivery estimate before the cart.
