Kansas City, MO

Shopify design and development for Kansas City brands.

Looking for a Shopify agency in Kansas City? Start with what actually needs doing: build the store, redesign the one you've outgrown, or market it once it's live with ads, email, search and testing. For brands doing six to eight figures a year.

Sold in stores · then online

A brand that sold well in stores, given a site built to sell too.

Stuffed States makes state-shaped plush that already sold in real stores; the website just wasn't built to sell. A lot of Kansas City brands ship far more than they sell in town, which makes the website the whole storefront.

We rebuilt it around the brand's personality and gifting occasions, then added Google Ads from zero and an email program built to bring a buyer back.

Selling from Kansas City

Two states, four railroads and the animal health capital.

Kansas City is a freight town with an unusual specialty. Each point links to where it comes from.

Get the store built — or get the one you have selling better.

A build is one project: the design and theme, your catalog, the move off whatever you’re on now, and a launch somebody watches. From $10,000 one-time, and you own every bit of it.

Already on Shopify? Shopify Growth keeps the store improving month to month, from $2,250/mo. Ads, email, search and testing go on top when they’ll pay for themselves.

Questions, Kansas City edition.

Are you actually in Kansas City?

We're a remote agency — home base is Norristown, Pennsylvania — so there's no Kansas City office to visit on either side of State Line Road. Our people are spread across the US, a Central Time day sits neatly between our east and west coast hours, and everything runs on video calls.

The metro is in two states. Does that complicate anything?

Only where software insists on the state line. A campaign aimed at Missouri skips Overland Park and Olathe, which to a shopper are just the other half of town, and a local-delivery zone drawn to the line does the same. We aim both at the metro instead. Small setting, easy to miss.

We ship a lot and sell a little locally. Is that normal?

It is the Kansas City pattern, and it is a strength. Being in the middle of the country means most of the US is two days away by ground, and if that is true for you it belongs on the product page rather than buried in a shipping policy nobody opens.

We make pet products in Kansas City. Is that a good category to sell direct?

It's one of the better ones — pets eat every day, so the reorder is built in, and Kansas City has the world's largest concentration of animal health companies. The store should lean into that: subscriptions on food and treats, a size or breed question that gets the first order right, and clear ingredient answers before anyone has to email you.

We sell into the animal health trade and want a consumer line. Where do we start?

With one product and one kind of owner. If you've sold through vets or distributors, a consumer line is a different business: the shopper needs to know what it does in plain words, what's in it and how often to buy it. Start with the product owners already ask about, put a subscription on it, and keep the trade side behind its own login so the two don't tangle.

Where we work

Kansas City on the Missouri side and the Kansas one.

Kansas City is two states pretending to be one city, and the brands here tend to be unusually good at logistics — it is a freight town before it is anything else.

We’re a remote agency with a home base in Norristown, Pennsylvania — the team is spread across the country, with a good chunk of it on the west coast. Everything runs on video calls, so you get the same people and the same hours whether you’re downtown or an hour out of it.
