Austin, TX

Shopify design and development for Austin brands.

Looking for a Shopify agency in Austin? Start with what actually needs doing: build the store, redesign the one you've outgrown, or market it once it's live with ads, email, search and testing. For brands doing six to eight figures a year.

Founder-led · store, ads and email

A store built around the idea, not just the analytics.

A Brighter Year started as a founder's idea — coloring designs a busy adult can actually finish — and needed a store that felt calm and finishable to match. Plenty of Austin founders arrive with great tracking and a store that doesn't yet sell the product the way they'd describe it.

We built a custom Shopify store around the concept, later rebuilt it from the ground up, and put the paid and email programs on top, so the thing that brings someone in and the thing that keeps them are one system.

Selling from Austin

What Austin makes, and the week the whole city's booked.

Austin's consumer brands grew up next to its grocers and its festival. These are the conditions a store here is selling in, each with where it comes from.

  • Packaged goods, a local strength

"From western boots to popcorn," consumer packaged goods had become one of the strongest segments of the Austin startup scene, the Austin Chamber wrote in 2020 — helped along by retailers like Whole Foods and H-E-B.

  • Kitchens you can rent

In 2019 the Chamber's Opportunity Austin announced that PREP, the largest provider of shared culinary production space in the Southeast, was opening its first Austin location on East Anderson Lane.

  • SXSW takes March

SXSW's 2027 dates are March 15–21 in Austin, with tech, film and TV, music and business programming running across the week.

Get the store built — or get the one you have selling better.

A build is one project: the design and theme, your catalog, the move off whatever you’re on now, and a launch somebody watches. From $10,000 one-time, and you own every bit of it.

Already on Shopify? Shopify Growth keeps the store improving month to month, from $2,250/mo. Ads, email, search and testing go on top when they’ll pay for themselves.

Questions, Austin edition.

Are you actually in Austin?

We're a remote agency, so there's no office to visit anywhere — ours or anyone else's. Our people are spread across the US and we run on video calls, which is how we'd work with you either way. A Central Time day sits between our East and West Coast hours, so there's always someone on your clock.

We're technical enough to build it ourselves. Why hire anyone?

Often you shouldn't, and we'll say so. If you can build it and you enjoy it, the constraint is rarely engineering — it's merchandising, photography and the email calendar. Hire for the part you're not going to do at eleven at night.

Our growth stalled after the launch spike. What now?

A launch spike is the audience you already had, not evidence of a working acquisition channel — so the next move is usually email and retention rather than more ad spend, because the people who already bought are the only proven customers you have.

We're a food or drink brand on H-E-B or Whole Foods shelves. Is a direct store worth it?

Usually, and for a reason the shelf can't fix: the grocer keeps the customer. Austin's packaged-goods scene grew up on those two retailers, so plenty of brands here have distribution before they have a single email address. A direct store is where the reorder, the subscription and the new flavor launch reach someone who already likes you — sell the bundles and sizes the shelf doesn't carry rather than undercutting it.

Should we time our launch to SXSW?

Only if the people you sell to are the ones in town that week. SXSW runs March 15–21 in 2027, and a launch then competes with the whole festival for attention. If you're showing there, have the store live before it starts, with a way to keep the email of everyone who scans your card — and send the follow-up the week after, while they still remember you.

Where we work

Austin and the towns it has grown into.

The Census Bureau's Austin metro is five counties — Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop and Caldwell — so Round Rock, Georgetown and San Marcos are the same local audience as South Congress.

We’re a remote agency with a home base in Norristown, Pennsylvania — the team is spread across the country, with a good chunk of it on the west coast. Everything runs on video calls, so you get the same people and the same hours whether you’re downtown or an hour out of it.
